Avelyne Msaki Founding Partner
01 / 2010

The idea came in 2010 to founders Avelyne Msaki and Chrisant Christopher, in response to growing demand from entities operating in Tanzania for world-class services tailored to the local environment. Having worked with multinational audit firms in Tanzania and the United Kingdom, the founders set out to combine global expertise with local insight, and registered the firm as Global Auditing and Accounting Solutions.

02 / 2013

The firm was renamed Claritas, a Latin word meaning glory or brightness. From the start, quality was held as the top priority, and every engagement was expected to meet the highest professional standards.

03 / 2018

Two more partners were admitted to lead new service lines: Angelica Tarimo (tax) and the late Irene Swai (financial services). In the same year, the firm extended its geographical coverage by opening two offices in northern Tanzania, in Arusha and Moshi.

04 / 2023

Elibariki Tuvana was admitted to head the firm's consulting line of services, including setting up sophisticated accounting systems and developing integrated business solutions for public and private sector entities.

05 / Today

With innovation as the key to staying ahead in a rapidly evolving market, the firm continually seeks new ways to add value and drive growth for its clients, including up-to-date audit and accounting software and world-class data and communication platforms such as Microsoft 365 and the Resource Planning Management System (RPMS).

Vision

To be a trusted advisor.

Not the largest firm in the market, the most trusted. The one whose opinion regulators recognise, whose advice boards rely on, and whose people clients want to keep working with.

Mission

Exceptional audit, tax, and consulting, delivered with judgment.

To provide exceptional audit, tax and consulting services using our expertise, integrity and client-centric approach, empowering our clients to achieve their business objectives.

What we hold ourselves to

Five values, written before they were rules.

These are the values the founding partners chose for the firm in 2010. They have not changed because the work the firm does has not changed: deliver clarity, defend it, and be accountable for it.

01

Integrity

Highest level of honesty and ethics, including the conversations clients don't want to have. The audit profession depends on this one being non-negotiable.

02

Excellence

Quality that goes beyond expectations. In audit, "good enough" is the failure mode, so we run engagements as if a regulator were reading our file the day after we sign.

03

Collaboration

Strong relationships with clients and inside the team. Auditors who don't talk to each other miss things, so partners, managers and seniors work the file together, not in shifts.

04

Innovation

New solutions for changing client needs, including how we use data, technology and analytics. The audit brief is fixed; the methodology is not.

05

Commitment

Long-term support. We are still working with clients we audited in 2010, because the relationship is the audit, not just the opinion that comes out of it.

Our commitment

Long-term partnerships, not transactions.

We build long-term partnerships with our clients, with personalised attention and dedicated support throughout every engagement. The partner who signs your engagement letter is the partner you call on day 200, not just on day one.

Our partners and directors are deeply involved in every project, providing expert guidance and judgement drawn from extensive knowledge of both the Tanzanian market and international best practices, the same combination the firm was founded on in 2010.
